![]() ![]() It is very forgiving and doesn't require much management. If you expend all your energy, you can't fly or boost and have to wait for it to force recharge, but it only takes about two seconds. Admittedly, your energy can drain somewhat quickly when boosting, but it recharges quickly as well. Flying doens't use energy, so going up or down or just staying in the air is just a button press away with not much consideration. Using said action depletes your energy, but that's the only thing that depletes your energy. What about boosting? Well, you have a boost button you can press to get a quick boost in speed, hold it down and you'll retain that speed and quickly traverse the environment (and it certainly feels quick as well). You have a variety of objectives being attack, defend, eliminate, etc. You can pick up vehicles, light poles, and the likes and use them as impromptu melee weapons. You aim your reticle at an enemy and it locks on (albeit with a weird 3d cube and exists within the enemy and can sometimes be hard to see) and you fire your weapons (or, depending on the weapon, it fires itself). ![]() So, you've made your Arsenal, what does it play like? Well its a mix between 4th and 5th gen, but a bit more simplistic. Part statistics are somewhat simplified, with parts having less part-specific stats, but they're there and there's a numbers game to be played. Again, just more simplistic than AC with functions like generator, FCS, radiator, and other specifics being shifted into other parts (head, prcoessor, arms, etc.) or dropped with nothing new to replace it. Is ACV/D's list bloated? Perhaps, but from my time with the game I doubt variety in each weapon type (bullets having close, medium, and long range subtypes, etc.) will still be subpar to any AC title.įor armor customization: head, body, left arm, right arm, legs, and processor. Compared to the giant list of weapon types in 5th gen AC and it really is lackluster. A similar list to AC games, but deeper in the listed weapon types are: bullets, laser, melee, special, shield. In weapons you have your standard affair, L/R weapon, L/R bay (referred to as pylons in-game) weapons, a shoulder weapon. In customization you have two sections, weapon and armor. To start off, why maybe? Everything has kind of been simplified. After an hour of play with the demo, I'd like to explain my thoughts on why. If you're someone like me that views Armored Core as the sum of its parts rather than a specific part, then it sadly doesn't. What if you took a chunk of every Armored Core, a bit of Zone of the Ender, and a very slight touch of super mecha? For better or worse, you have Daemon X Machina.ĭoes this game hit that Armored Core scratch we all have as we wait for AC6? If you simply define Armored Core as customizing a mech and shooting other mechs then maybe. Don't flood the sub with the same articles and links, especially if they are old. If you have any second thoughts, don't post it. If you provided information and it is considered questionable, please provide evidence of such. You should not post intentionally misleading or false information. But blatant Gen-Bashing (" sucks and is bad because it's bad!") accomplishes literally nothing but reigniting decade-old flame wars that are better left buried. It's okay to not like a game, or a couple games. But civilized arguments are a thing, so make sure you keep them as such.
